On 29th July 2024, Rotary Club of Chitwan & Rotaract Club of Chitwan jointly organized Tree Plantation Program at Bharatpur-22, Patihani. This initiative was part of Rotary International’s broader goal of planting 1,000 trees, focusing on promoting environmental conservation and raising awareness about the importance of afforestation in the local community. The event began at 7:30 AM, with Rtn. Bhanu Sharma, the President of the Rotary Club, leading the program. The chief guest, Mr. Vishnu Prasad Mahato, the ward president, emphasized the critical role of environmental protection and tree planting.
A total of 400 saplings were planted at various locations, including the premises of Shree Basic School Birendranagar and other areas in Patihani. The event saw the active participation of approximately 100 people, including 20 Rotarians and Rotaractors, alongside local residents. The program was significantly supported by Bharatpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 22, Sarbeshwar Tole Bikash Sanstha, Birendranagar Tole bikash Sanstha, Shree Basic School Birendranagar, Tourism Police Patihani , all of which contributed to the event’s success and impact.
The total budget for the program was NPR 50,000.. The primary goal of this program was to educate the local community about the importance of tree planting and environmental conservation. The saplings planted are expected to enhance greenery and ecological health in the area, bringing prosperity and environmental benefits in the future. This program was a significant step in raising environmental awareness and encouraging community involvement in conservation efforts, contributing positively to the preservation and improvement of natural resources.
