Rotary Club of Chitwan, in partnership with Madi Municipality and the College of Medical Sciences (CMS), successfully organized a two-day mega health camp on 10th and 11th January, 2025, at Baghauda Hospital premises, Basantpur, Madi. The camp provided a wide range of healthcare services, benefiting 580 patients, particularly those from rural and marginalized communities. Specialized consultations were offered in ophthalmology, ENT, dentistry, pediatrics, dermatology, orthopedics, mental health, gastroenterology, diabetes, and thyroid care, along with general medical services. Advanced diagnostics, including video X-ray, ECG, and laboratory tests, were conducted, and free medications were distributed to all patients. Additionally, 200 women received VIA tests as part of cervical cancer screening, highlighting the camp’s focus on women’s health. 40 Medical Team were involved in the camp.
The camp was inaugurated by College of Medical Science Director/Club Service Project Chair Rtn. Dr. Manohar Pradhan, who also began patient consultations. The Program was Coordinted by Rtn. Rishi Ram Neupane. An official ceremony on the second day featured Madi Municipality Mayor Tara Kaji Mahato as the Chief Guest, who praised Rotary’s efforts in providing specialized healthcare to the Madi community. Special guests included Past District Governor Rtn. Rabindra Kumar Piya and Assistant Governor Zone 38 Rtn. Hari Prasad Subedi, along with Armed Police Force SP Rajesh Kharel. The program was chaired by Club President Rtn. Bhanu Sharma, who highlighted Rotary’s commitment to healthcare, mentioning ongoing projects like Spinal Injury rehabilitation, ventilator cardio-care centers, and hemodialysis services..
Transportation facilities were arranged for residents of rural areas of Badarjhula, ensuring greater accessibility to the camp. The event was organized with a total budget of NPR 300,000 significant support from the Armed Police Force in its successful execution. Tokens of appreciation were presented to all participating organizations, medical teams and local volunter, recognizing their invaluable contributions. Purpose Rotary Club: Rotary Club of Satellite also actively participate & well manage the program. President Elect Rtn. Ramchandra Adhikari concluded the program with a heartfelt vote of thanks, underscoring Rotary’s role in enhancing community health and welfare. For the first time a super specialist health camp was organized in Madi Municipality. This provided the local community with access to advanced healthcare services and specialized facilities, which were previously unavailable in the region. The camp not only addressed critical health needs but also highlighted Rotary’s dedication to community service, earning public recognition and strengthening its goodwill at the grassroots level.
