The Rotary Club of Chitwan successfully hosted a Friendship Exchange Program with Rotarians from Rotary Club of Yokosuka, Japan on 6th and 7th February 2025 (2081 Magh 24 & 25). The program aimed to strengthen international Rotary relationships and explore future collaborative projects. The delegation was warmly welcomed at Bharatpur Airport. As part of the exchange program, the visiting team, along with representatives from Rotary Club of Chitwan, visited the Chamgha Khasuwa Drinking Water & Sanitation Project site, Bulingtar, where an MoU signing took place at Bulingtar Municipality. A public meeting was held to engage beneficiaries, followed by a feedback collection session to better understand community needs.
On the first day, a welcome program was held to honor the visiting Rotarians, followed by a fellowship program in Patihani to foster deeper connections. The next day, a formal meeting was organized at the Rotary Secretariat, chaired by Club President Rtn. Bhanu Sharma, where Second Vice President Rtn. Rajan Piya presented details on completed and ongoing Global Grant projects. Discussions were held on potential future collaborations between Rotary Club of Chitwan and Rotary Club of Yokosuka, Japan. The Club Flags were exchanged between Club marking a symbolic gesture of international friendship and cooperation. The team also visited the Rotary Udaya Kumar Chameli Devi Piya Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Center & Rotary Bandipur Street Lamp. Distinguished guests from RC Yokosuka included President Rtn. Yamashita Kazuo, Vice President Rtn. Suzuki Takahiro, Secretary Rtn. Suzuki Toyoji and VP International Service Committee Rtn. Loknath Wosti who were presented with tokens of appreciation and club souvenirs as a gesture of goodwill. The exchange program significantly enhanced cross-club relationships, promoted cultural understanding, and paved the way for future international service initiatives.
