Youth Workshop on Road Safety & Public Transportation

Venue: Oxford College of Engineering & Management, Gaidakot

On 14th May 2025 (31st Baisakh 2082), a Youth Workshop on “Road Safety & Public Transportation” was successfully conducted at Oxford College of Engineering and Management, Gaindakot, Nepal. The event was organized by the Nepal Automobiles’ Association (NASA) in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Chitwan. The workshop was moderated by Rotary Club of Chitwan Club Admin Chair Rtn. Er. Lomash Adhikari and chaired by the Acting Principal of Oxford College, Mr. Bhim Bhandari.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Govinda Bhattarai from NASA, with technical support from Mr. Kiran Dhital. The workshop witnessed the participation of 90 students from the 6th, 7th, and 8th semesters of the Road Engineering faculty. The core presentation revolved around practical strategies and actions required to enhance road safety, focusing on awareness, planning, and improved transportation systems.

This informative session not only helped students understand the risks and responsibilities related to road use but also promoted proactive dialogue on reforming public transportation. The key beneficiaries were engineering students with future roles in infrastructure development.

The workshop proved to be impactful in raising awareness among youth and fostering a safety-first mindset in road usage and public transit planning.
