Rotary Tree Plantation

Date: 26th July, 2025

Venue: Chulibojha village, Ward No. 4 of Bulingtar Rural Municipality, Nawalparasi district (East)

On Saturday, 26th July 2025 (10th Shrawan 2082), the Rotary Club of Chitwan, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Chitwan and the Spouse Club of RC Chitwan, successfully conducted a large-scale Tree Plantation Program at Chulibojha village, Ward No. 4 of Bulingtar Rural Municipality, Nawalparasi district (East). This village is also in the plan of becoming a RCC (Rotary Community Corps) Village by RC Chitwan.

This tree plantation campaign was a part of Rotary International District 3292’s mission to plant 50,000 trees in a single day, promoting the global theme of “Unite for Good” and contributing toward environmental conservation, climate action, and sustainable community development. As part of this initiative, 1,000 coffee plants were successfully planted by 50 families in the RCC village, with the objective of not only preserving the environment but also creating future long term sources of income for local households.

The active participation of 20 Rotarians, along with enthusiastic involvement from members of the Rotaract Club, Spouse Club, and local volunteers. The hands-on involvement of all participants in planting, watering, and safeguarding the saplings was a testament to Rotary’s commitment to community-led service.

The total cost of the program was NPR 75000/-, covering the purchase and transportation and planting the saplings. The saplings were planted strategically in locations selected with support from local leaders and community representatives to ensure long-term care and sustainability.

Conducting this plantation in an RCC village holds special value, as RCCs are community-based groups formed and supported by Rotary Clubs to advance local development goals. By engaging the RCC village directly, the program not only ensured local ownership and responsibility but also reinforced Rotary’s vision of empowering communities to build a greener, healthier, and more economically resilient future.

This impactful event demonstrated Rotary’s growing focus on Environment as a key Area of Focus. It highlighted the strength of collaboration across Rotary, Rotaract, Spouse Clubs, and RCCs.
