Cardio Screening Program

The Rotary Club of Chitwan successfully organized a Cardio Screening Camp on 5th February 2025 (2081 Magh 23, Wednesday) at its club premises, focusing on the early detection and intervention of heart conditions in children. The initiative, in collaboration with Rotary Pun Naryan Ujelidevi Cardio Care Center, was led by senior cardiologist Rtn. Dr. Manoj Shrestha. The program aimed to identify heart-related issues in students from community schools and intervene at an early stage to ensure timely medical care and treatment.  Rtn. Dr. Manohar Pradhan, Chairman of the Rotary Pun Narayan Ujeli Devi Cardio Care Center, emphasized that early detection of heart diseases in children allows for timely intervention, preventing severe complications and ensuring better health outcomes. The total budget allocated for this program was NPR 30,000/-, covering medical examinations, logistics, and awareness materials.

A total of 26 students from Chamelidevi Secondary School underwent video X-ray and other cardiac tests, conducted by specialists. The event was graced by Rotary Club President Rtn. Bhanu Sharma, who highlighted Rotary’s global efforts in eradicating polio and its continuous contribution to health-related initiatives. He expressed happiness in launching a heart screening program for children at the club’s premises. The program aimed not only at raising awareness about heart health but also at ensuring early intervention through referrals to relevant healthcare institutions for necessary treatment.

The screening camp provided a vital healthcare intervention for students from underprivileged backgrounds and strengthened Rotary’s commitment to community healthcare initiatives.
