Foundation Laying Program

On Thursday, 21st August 2025, Rotary Club of Chitwan organized the foundation laying ceremony of the Chamgha–Khasuwa Drinking Water and Sanitation Project at Bulingtar, Nawalparasi. The  Chief Guest of the event was Assistant Governor Zone 34 Rtn. Dhan Bahadur Shrestha, special guest  International Sponsor Rotary Club of Yokosuka Japan RI District 2780’s Service Project Director Rtn. Loknath Osti , Ward Chairperson Mr. Bishnu Bir Jargamagar, and Guest Mr. Khadga Bahadur Kumal from Chamgha–Dadreni Water Project. The program was chaired by Club President Rtn. Ram Chandra Adhikari.

During the event, Project 1st Contact Person/First Vice President Rtn. Rajan Piya delivered a welcome address, emphasizing that the project’s successful implementation will directly uplift community health, hygiene, and overall living standards. Technical insights were provided by Rtn. Er. Guneshwar Mahato, who highlighted the engineering aspects and sustainability measures of the scheme.

This initiative is being carried out under a Rotary Global Grant(GG2352639) in collaboration with an international partner Rotary Club of Yokosuka, Japan- RI District 2780, reflecting Rotary’s strong commitment to global partnership and community transformation. The total estimated cost of the project is $40572 of which $3000 is contributed by Rotary Club of Chitwan. Once completed, the project will provide safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene services (WASH) to 175 households and one primary school with 85 students in Chamgha and Khasuwa villages. The initiative is expected to ensure long-term access to clean water, improve health conditions, reduce water-borne diseases, and contribute to sustainable community development.
